We went to Helping Hands Community Garden today for the first time ever. Here we can volunteer to plant and take care of the plants, and you get to learn from Judy Rose, the lady that runs the garden. I plan on learning the different varieties of different plants, how to take care of all different kinds of plants, and of course their medicinal values. I have only planned a few things that I want to plant in my garden bed so far. Those things are watermelon, strawberries, and calendula to attract bees, wasps, and maybe a plant to attract humming birds as well.
And the best part is that most of the food goes to the poor people who can’t get food often and the rest of it goes to the volunteers who take care of them.
You can learn more about the community garden at their website, Helping Hands Community Garden.
